Comhthraenáil was established in 1988 between Ógras, Feachtas and CONCOS and other groups in order to provide training to the Irish language youth organisations. At present, the Youth Affairs Section of the Department of Education provides around €17,000 through Comhthraenáil annually for training in the youth organisations.
Currently, Ógras, Feachtas and Cumann na bhFiann are the three organisations taking part in these courses and representatives from Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge and the National Youth Council act as Chairperson and Secretary/Treasurer respectively on this committee.
During 2007 many workshops dealing with such matters as drumming, samba, hip-hop dancing and sean-nós dancing were organised around the country. A weekend workshop was held in Letterkenny for young people interested in a career as a DJ or a VJ. The course was a success and there was plenty of work in store for the participants.
Members from Ógras and Cumann na bhFiann took part in a First Aid course the previous year and we intend holding a refresher course early in 2008 to ensure no aspect of the first course is forgotten.
Comhthraenáil intends providing the following courses for the members, leaders and staff of the Irish language organisations in 2008:

Ógras, óg-eagraíocht Chonradh na Gaeilge celebrated 40 years running on the 17th November 2009. The celebration took place in the Button Factory, Temple Bar. There was a great turn out on the night and we all really enjoyed ourselves.
