Connaught Óg-Ógras Day Trip 20th November 2010:

On saturday 20th November 2010 we had our Óg-Ógras clubs day out in Oranmore Co Galway . The clubs taking part were Óg-Ógras Eanach Dhuain, Óg-Ógras Uachtar Árd, Óg-Ógras Mhic Dara  and Óg-Ógras an Fháirche. They arrived at Citylimits at 9.30am on Saturday morning. The clubs took part in various activities during the morning from – Lazer quest, Bowling, Climbing walls and Bouncing Castles. After a hectic morning of playing they all had lunch in Jungle Drums. When every one had finished lunch they went to the Omni-plex next door. There they had a choice of films to watch - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Despicable me. They all got popcorn, a drink and sweets and enjoyed the films immensely. They all had a great day  out and each child got an Ógras  Hoodie. The leaders were very happy with the day as were parents when the clubs arrived back home. They are all looking forward to the next day out.

October 2007 Day Out:

We had our Óg Ógras day out for the small clubs on the the 18th November 2007. It took part at Citylimits and Oranmore Omniplex in Oranmore, Co Galway.

One hundred and sixty children took part in the day out . The number of clubs and children wanting to take part was so high that we had to have 2 days for the Lá Óg Ógras instead of the usual one day. The clubs came together in Oranmore at 10.30am on Sunday morning and each club was divided into groups of 50 children. They were then taken away to do all the different activities which included High Wall Climbing, Laserquest, Bowling and they all had lunch in the new restaurant open up stairs in Citylimits.

When the young people had completed their different activities they were brought across to the Omniplex next door where they went to watch the film Ratatouille. Because our numbers were so high we had the whole screen to ourselves. They had a great time watching the film and eating popcorn and sweets. When the film was over they all gathered at the front door so they could be assembled in their groups for the 5 buses that were waiting for them outside. The children had a really good day and enjoyed it thoroughly as did the leaders who were with them for the day even if they were a bit tired by then.

We will have our day out for the Mayo Clubs before Christmas.
