Day Trip to Carlingford:

 

Members from Óg-Ógras Leinster clubs took part in a day trip to Carlingford Adventure Centre, Co.Louth on the 13^th November 2010, along with clubs from Ulster.

They spent the day absailing, doing high ropes courses, orienteering, at archery and lots more team games.

They were like little animals crawling and hiding in mazes and in adventure course that the staff of Carlingford had set up for them.We all had a lovely hot dinner in the centre aswel  which was needed on the cold day. We had a great day in Carlingford  full of fun.

We will definitely be going back to the centre again for another day of adventure.

 

 

 

 

Workshops in the Clubs:

 

There are a lot of workshops going on in clubs around Leinster throught the year. So far this year there has been samba, hip-hop, circus skills, story telling, glass art and science workshops in some of the clubs. We will be organising loads more over the next few months including drama, cooking and art workshops. The club members really enjoy the workshops and they also help the students to develop new skills.

 

Paintballing in Wicklow:

 

In May 2010 a group of teenagers from our Ógras clubs in Leinster went on a trip to Skirmish Centre in Wicklow for a day of paintballing. The students had a great day running through the woods playing out the different scenarios that Skirmish had set up for them. We were very lucky the sun was shining on the day and everyone looked great in their protective clothing. The students are all very interested in going back to do the paintballing again – hopefully we will have another trip planned for the end of the year.

 

Day trip to W5:

 

For our Leinster Óg-Ógras clubs day trip in November 2009 we took a trip to W5 in Belfast.  W5 is an interactive discovery centre for children.  We met some of the Ulster clubs while we were in Belfast. The day was spent moving from floor to floor testing the exhibits. There are almost 200 exhibits in W5 that you can play with including, magnets, giant sized lego, sound and visual equipment and loads more. We also got lunch in the centre. Over 200 Óg-Ógras club members from Leinster and Ulster  took part in the day and everybody – both children and leaders thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

 

Leinster Óg-Ógras Day

We had our Leinster Óg-Ógras day trip on the 17th of November 2007.Members of Óg-Ógras in Leinster spent a day in the ENRG Playcentre in Rathcoole.

 

On meeting at the Centre, the children went straight in to play. There were many slides and other facilities like the cliff wall in the Centre and all had the chance to participate.

 

After that, we had lunch as everyone was quite hungry after all that playing. Before leaving, every member received a bag containing sweets, a colouring book and colour pens. There were more than a few tired páistí on the way home but everyone had a fabulous day.

 

Leinster óg-Ógras Day trip - 26th April 2008:

Clubs from around Leinster came together on the 26th of April in the Cavan Crystal Maze. We spent the day in the Cavan Crystal Maze taking part in physical, mental and skill challenges.

We also went on a hill walk to see a giants grave which lies at the top. Before going home we went to Kingswood, where we spent an hour orienteering. Everybody really enjoyed the day.
