Ógras Climate Justice Project
The Ógras Climate Justice Project 2025 invited young people to engage creatively with important global issues through the Irish language. Organised by Ógras in 2025, the Climate Justice Competition focused on Goal 6 of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals – Clean Water & Sanitation, encouraging participants to explore themes of water, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
Participants responded to the theme of Uisce / Water by creating videos, artworks, and poems using their best Gaeilge. The competition included four age categories and welcomed both individual and group entries. Winning submissions were celebrated at a prizegiving event and showcased on the Ógras website, with prizes awarded, including a weekend working alongside a professional video maker.

Eco Bricks & Fast Fashion: SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Productiondownload List Item 1
This project focused on reducing plastic waste and raising awareness of the impact of fast fashion on the environment and human rights. Members took part in a "Plastic-Free Month" challenge, documenting their experiences while learning to reuse and recycle materials by creating clothing and designs from recycled items. Their work culminated in a community fashion show that encouraged others to make more sustainable choices.

Climate Justice Around the World: SDG 13 - Climate ActionItem Link List Item 2
This project explored the impact of climate change on people and communities across the world. Members collected and shared personal stories from people affected by climate change, producing a video to highlight these experiences. They also took part in a carbon footprint campaign that encouraged practical climate action and greater awareness of climate justice.

Sustainable Food Production & Consumption SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production | SDG 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation | SDG 14 - Life Below WaterItem Link List Item 3
This project focused on food waste, sustainable food production and their impact on the environment. Members explored these issues through workshops, creative activities, field visits and a residential programme delivered in partnership with Global Action Plan. Older members produced a video to share the project's key messages and learning with other young people which can be found below.

This project focused on the importance of clean water and the links between water, health and climate change. Through workshops, outdoor activities and practical projects, members learned about water scarcity, pollution and their impact on communities around the world. The project empowered young people to take positive action in protecting water resources and promoting sustainability within their own communities.
